Welcome to Team #SharonStrong
Last May I lost my wife Sharon after an 11 month battle with Glioblastoma. She was a loving wife for over 42 years, an amazing mother to our four children, a sister, an aunt, a friend, and a Gia to 10 beautiful grandchildren. She was a force of nature, and this terrible disease took her too soon. There is not a day that goes by that we don't miss her.
We are joining the Georgia Brain Tumor Walk to raise awareness and funds to support the needs of patients with brain tumors and their families. It's a 5K walk/run at The Battery around the Atlanta Braves stadium at 8:00am, Saturday, May 11th. Our team will be walking along with another family team that has lost a family member to this disease. The Luck of the Irish team is headed up by the O'Neill family and they are close friends with my brother-in-law Brian Murphy.
After the event, we will join the Luck of the Irish team and head to Mac Mcgee's (www.macmcgeepubs.com), an Irish Pub located on Canton Street in downtown Roswell and will be hosting a team function in the form of a good old-fashioned Irish party, with all food and drink provided. Even if you can't participate in the Walk, we hope you will swing by and have lunch and raise a pint or two with some friends!
Please consider joining in this fight against brain cancer, so that another family might not have to go through what we endured.
National Brain Tumor Society is fiercely committed to finding a cure for brain tumors. They are aggressively driving strategic research; advocating for public policies that meet the critical needs of the brain tumor community; and providing comprehensive patient, family and caregiver resources. Your support ensures this important work will continue.
