Welcome to My Personal Page
This year marks the 30th year that Allie’s Team will Ride in the National Brain Tumor Ride.
It is hard to believe that decades have passed since Allie died and much harder to think of all the things over the years that we wish we could have shared with her.
Allie and I met in middle school and were best of friends right from the start. Not so coincidentally, several years later, we chose to attend the same college and she and I were roommates. Allie was just a year out of Dartmouth when she was diagnosed with an inoperable Grade 4 astrocytoma. She died 16 months later just before her 25th birthday.
We ride every year to find a cure and to honor Allie’s memory and keep her smile, laughter and friendship close to our hearts.
There have been incredible breakthroughs in treatments as a result of money raised for The National Brain Tumor Society. Many of those funds have been raised by Allie’s Team. But we haven’t found the cure yet, so we are riding again and I am writing to ask for your support.
I am dedicating this ride to my dad who led the charge in this effort riding in 27 of these 30 rides. He rode right up until he celebrated his last birthday, his 88th, when instead he cheered for us on what would have been his 28th annual ride. Dad loved riding and he cherished Allie, so we will ride with him in spirit.
We hope for the day when we won’t need to send out this annual appeal! But that time, unfortunately, has not yet come.
Thank you for helping find a cure in memory of Allie!
Margaret
