My brother Dov was one of the most important people in my life, and one of my closest friends. He will always remain in my mind a pretty remarkable guy for several reasons, not least of which being the fact that he continued to live his life as a positive, optimistic guy even after being diagnosed with a tumor in his brain. This time of the year is always the most difficult as this was the time when Dov's brain tumor caused him to slowly lose his ability to communicate and use his body. Dov passed away on October 31, 2012. Yet I will always remember him as that positive, optimistic guy who never stopped living his life to the fullest.
One year ago at this time, we also lost my father suddenly. My father was such a huge presence in everything he participated in, and the Race For Hope was no exception. He served on the national board of the Brain Tumor Society for many years, and he loved gathering our team under the big TEAM DOV banner at every race. We walk again this year to honor and remember both Dov and Eric.
I hope you'll consider donating in some way to support this organization that means so much to me and my family, an organization that helps patients and their families fight what my brother fought for so long. NBTS is an organization that is striving to put an end to brain tumors and help those who are currently affected by them. This year, our family and friends will once again come together for The Race For Hope Philadelphia in person. You can join TEAM DOV 2024 and walk with us Sunday October 13 at Cooper River Park, or you can simply donate to be a part of our team, virtually - helping raise funds and awareness for those affected by brain tumors. Every little bit helps!
