Welcome to My #Hope4Hadley Page!
Thank you for checking out Race for Hope in honor of Hadley Anne Ludwig!
Hadley is a walking miracle and proof that God exists. Statistically she shouldn't be here as she was diagnosed with Posterior Fossa A anaplastic ependymoma on October 29, 2019 at only 22 months old. She's not only HERE, but she is THRIVING! She started 1st grade this August and she is ready to learn even more! She even gets to start PREP at our Parish St. Philip Neri this Fall. Kids like Hadley deserve to grow up to be adults. Pediatric brain tumors are the number one cancer killing our children. It's why I decided to focus on raising money strictly for ependymoma and brain tumors instead of our local Children's Hospital. While we are forever grateful to them and their brilliant neurosurgery team, money for brain tumors is underfunded. Last year, CHOP alone raised over 2 MILLION dollars, while the National Brain Tumor Society's "goal" for the Greater Philadelphia's Race for Hope this year is just $650,000. Please join me in helping the NBTS surpass their goal, every dollar will help. Consider donating $1 or maybe $5 to help end this ugly beast of brain cancer.
I am uniting with others to make a difference in the fight against brain tumors. I am passionate about this cause, so I’m taking action. I need your help in this fight. Our goal is to raise at least $10,000 towards ependymoma research. According to the top researchers in the ependymoma field, her risk for recurrence is around 66%. That is hard for us to live with on a daily basis. It's also not acceptable in the world of cancer-recurrence risks. Not to mention, that the federal government only gives 4% toward funding pediatric cancers. FOUR PERCENT! The rest goes to the more "common" cancers that adults get. The National Brain Tumor Society will not rest until a cure exists - but more needs to be done. Please join in our effort!
Please consider joining our team and being a part of Team #Hope4Hadley's 2nd walk with the Race for Hope on Sunday October 13, 2024 at 8:30 am at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken Township, NJ! We'd love to see you there, the more the merrier! Don't forget to wear your purple in honor of Hadley's love for purple and obsession with purple shoes and/or your NEW GOLD #Hope4Hadley EpENDymoma awareness sweatshirt if you got one! If you didn't get one - no worries - just wear anything that's Gold or Purple and let's hope for a nice, sunny day!!!
Love,
Krista & Hadley
