New England Brain Tumor Walk
Smiley Strong
On December 7, 2021 Karolina found herself with what she thought was a terrible migraine. Come to find out, it was a nearly 7cm tumor pressing against her brain and skull.
On December 10, a gross total resection of this tumor was performed at Mass General Hospital.
Ten days later, pathology reported that it was a Grade 4 Anaplastic Astrocytoma, IDH mutant.

Since Karolina's diagnosis, she has completed 6 weeks of concurrent radiation and chemotherapy. She has also completed a full year of “maintenance chemo” and scans continue to look good.
