Northern California Brain Tumor Walk

Team Maxx

Welcome and thank you for visiting our page.

We are happy to participate in the 2024 Bay Area Brain Tumor Walk. This is our tenth year participating in this event with the hopes to raise funds and awareness. Our team is walking in honor of our dear friend Maxx Falk who lost a hard fought battle to brain cancer at the young age of 25 in 2010.

For those of you who don’t know Maxx, he was a special person who impacted the lives of those around him through his charm, story telling, and laughter. Maxx was a firm believer in fate and he truly believed whatever was meant to happen, would happen.

One of Maxx’s favorite things was pie and he loved visiting the small town of Julian. During college, he planned a trip from Santa Cruz down to Julian to share his favorite pie with me. It was a very long drive but it did not disappoint. Julian consisted of only a few blocks of shops and houses plus acres of apple trees. When we arrived, there was a line down the street for Maxx’s favorite pie shop. When we finally got our slices of cherry apple (and 2 whole pies to take with us), it was delicious and worth the wait. Maxx and I spent the day exploring the shops and eating a lot of pie.

Maxx also shared a special passion for writing and storytelling. He spent much of his teenage and adult life writing an endless story. While he wasn’t able to finish it, I believe he lived a lot of it. His stories were outstandingly epic and I know they will live on forever through his friends and family.

If you want to help make a difference in the fight against brain tumors, we are accepting donations to TEAM MAXX. All proceeds go straight to the National Brain Tumor Society.

Last and most importantly, we love you Maxx! Your brave and gentle soul will always be with us!
