BE A STARR - JOIN TEAM STARR - HELP FIND A CURE

The Brain Tumor Ride is a fun and inspirational day where the brain tumor community unites to inspire hope and take action in the fight against brain tumors.

Progress in this fight starts one team, one rider, and one dollar at a time. Like the National Brain Tumor Society, we are fiercely committed to finding a cure.

Meet Team Starr:

Captain - Sandy Starr - A veteran rider. He loves to ride in the rain but prefers to ski powder. His bike is named "Dark Starr" and is very fast! He skied many days this year so he is behind on his bike training and if it ever stops raining he will get in some training rides!

Patti "LA Woman" Goldberger - She moved to LA and now rides on Rodeo Drive rather than Brattle Street. She is a veteran of many Brain Tumor rides. Sadly, her new bike "White Lightning" was recently stolen in LA. It may not be safe in LA, maybe she should move back to Cambridge. Last year she rode around Lake Como. This year she is going to ride on the beach in LA. Very nice!

Emma Starr -  She rode in the past but may not ride this year. She bakes excellent bread and makes very tasty beef wellington.

Tyler Starr - Rookie of the year in the past and now Dr. Starr! Dr. Starr is riding this year with us in Waltham which is great in case we need medical treatment.

Bradley Starr - An excellent rider and teacher. He actually has done some training rides this year and will be ready to ride on May 19th. Perhaps he might be captain of Team Starr some day.

Julie Starr Duker - Julie is a very good rider and former hockey player but isn't going to ride this year. She is too busy playing tennis, making brisket, playing with her grandchildren or doing many other things. Maybe someday she will ride with us again.

Andy Gillies - The team doctor. As always he didn't get enough ski days in and is very  busy but he is riding with us in Waltham this year! We hope that he gets in some training rides before the event.

Kimmie Gillies - She is Andy's daughter and is very fit!

Robert "Shackelton" Mann - Who knows if he can ride this year. He is on his sail boat in Norway above the artic circle and will be in skiing in Norway on a glacier this year during the ride. He says he will try to ride on the glacier. We hope he doesn't run into any polar bears.

David "le Poulet Noir" Elan is an excellent skier and lives in Jackson Hole in the winter and skied over 100 days this year and now is a ski instructor! But the best news is that he is riding with us in Waltham this year.

Dianne Hurley - This former ice hockey player is riding this year in the Catskills on the mountain "crusher" course.

The Dashe Family - Team Starr hopes that John, Ben, John and William are riding this year. Team Starr loves families who ride.

Sue Bear - Is this powerful rider joining Team Starr this year? Who knows, only time will tell.

Jo-Anne Haney Tilton -  Team Starr hopes Jo-Anne will be riding this year. Jo-Anne taught Team Starr an important lesson, that one can bike ride and shop at the same time! Also, she is a doctor and Team Starr needs all the medical support it can get!

Jennifer Silver is an excellent rider. She will always be on Team Starr even if she dosen't ride.

Webmaster and Ground Control Raine Figueroa.

Spiritual Leaders Jason Starr and Jake Duker.

Sponsorship - Bear Duker is trying to get Team Starr sponsored. I wish he would because Team Starr needs some swag. Also, Bear is trying to get Draft Kings to do a fantasy event for the ride. It is hard to say what the over/under on whether Julie will be riding or making brisket.  Bradley is working on some "prop" bets on the ride, like at what mile marker will Andy Gillies cramp up.

Team Accountant - Starr Finer Starr LLP.

Team Pet - Toby the cat. He  is very cute and athletic and would ride if he had a bike that fit.

Team Beverage - Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and/or Rolling Rock.
