Welcome to My Personal Page

I have been battling a brain tumor since 1995. Six years ago was a rough year for me, I went through ups and downs during what was supposed to be a year of chemotherapy to treat a regrowth in my tumor. At the ride that year, I was the survivor speaker. I had so much to share about my experiences and my outlook. A week after the ride, after 5 months of my chosen treatment, the MRIs showed further growth, and I decided to have my 3rd surgery. I was so nervous to undergo that surgery because I continue to live with lingering deficits from my second surgery, and there was a possibility that things could worsen. Luckily, I did very well, and had an unbelievable surgeon. According to my brother-in-law, who came to visit me post-op, I looked better after enduring the surgery, than he looks in the morning (I doubt that, but I'll take the compliment). I had (and continue to have) an amazing support system that helped me through an extremely difficult time in my life. I love everyone around me for being understanding and supportive of me. Those that know me well, know that I am very independent and have a hard time accepting help. During my recovery, I had no choice, but to ask for help and I completely appreciated everything that people did on my behalf. I want to help as well. I am dedicated to helping to fundraise for the National Brain Tumor Society so that other people do not have to be afflicted with the horrors of a brain tumor. Please help me in the fight against brain tumors! My family and friends are riding together again this year as Lisa's Riders in the annual Boston Brain Tumor Ride for the National Brain Tumor Society. Please help in any way that you can, and remember, any amount, great or small, helps in the fight! Last year, with your help, I raised $11,974! I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress.
