Welcome to My Personal Page
You will also be young. You will always be vibrant. Sixteen years does not erase that smile, drown your voice or dissolve the integrity and kindness that endure in our sons, Danny and Josh.
We lost you to brain cancer on May 19, 2008. As the anniversary of your passing draws near, we celebrate your life and give hope to others experiencing this devastating disease.
For my 50th birthday, you gave me a road bike. You knew that I, the pragmatist, would not otherwise trade in the sturdy Raleigh I scraped to save for in college. In April of that year, I took the new Trek out for a few short rides, but after the cancer diagnosis, the bike sat unused in the garage for several years before I cared to try it out again.
How fitting that I use an enduring gift from you to participate in an event that may alter outcomes for others. Maybe in the future, brain tumor patients will hear more promising prognoses.
I like to think that on Sunday, May 19, you are riding with us as we cruise through Lexington, Concord and Waltham, MA. I’m certain we’ll feel your zest for life as tangibly as we experience the wind on our backs.
