Ride for Research 2015
Almost every year since the inception of the Ride 27 years ago, I have participated in the National Brain Tumor Society's Ride for Research. I'm not going to let a small thing like a move across the country stop me! This year I am recruiting my whole family to ride with me along the Pacific Ocean from Malibu to Playa del Rey (and back) to support the important work of the Brain Tumor Society. My grandmother Fannie Shakin died from a brain tumor almost 40 years ago, my cousin Scott Bruskin suffered from multiple brain tumors while battling melanoma almost 30 years ago, and so many others have been lost to brain tumors which are now the leading cause of solid tumor cancer deaths in children and the third leading cause of cancer deaths for young adults under the age of 40. It is time to find a cure!
