Welcome to My Personal Page
Now why I ride and what I am asking you to do.
You can read all about Erin's Journey below and on the Team page but 1st the Update and greatest news possible. On November 2nd, 2018 Erin gave birth to our beautiful granddaughter Coraline (Cora) Ann Lindsey. This past October in the middle of a Pandemic Erin & Chris welcomed their second daughter Meara Codi Lindsey. This is just to show that miracles do happen, that God is Good and all the money that has been donated in the past has helped. More is needed because we want many more outcomes like Erin's.
I am participating in the Boston Brain Tumor Ride again this year because my daughter Erin was diagnosed with a brain tumor the in November of 2011 and was operated on in December 2011 and is now a survivor. The tumor returned in July of 2013. Erin was then operated on again to have the tumor removed. In the Fall of 2013 she had proton radiation and chemo at Mass General. Erin Completed an additional 6 months of chemo on the day of this ride in 2014. She completed the 40 mile ride that day crossing the fish line with the entire team behind her. It was an awe inspiring moment for me and one that I hope we can repeat for many years to come.
This has been a very scary time for all of us. Prior to this I knew nothing about brain tumors except that people died from them - not survived. I hope by doing this ride I am able to help raise more awareness about brain tumors. Erin is doing very well due to all of the blessings and prayers she has been given. Those blessings just happen to include some of the best doctors, nurses and medical staff that anyone could ask for and a surgeon who knows how to use the gifts God has given him to save those stricken with Brain tumors. I know none of this would have been possible without your prayers and the donations of private money to fund the research and education.
Erin married Chris in 2019 and they now have 2 beautiful little girls. Erin is moving on with her life but the reality of what she has been through and the possibility it could come back is still there. We all need to stay diligent and continue to advocate for a cure. That is why even in the midst of a Pandemic we will ride to continue to raise awareness and of course funds to help researchers find the cure.
There are now new treatments and possible "long term remission" or even "cure" that will be coming to the market within the next 5 to 10 years. Hopefully sooner. What we raise goes into funding that type of research. I can't wait for the day we can say Erin is "Cured" of this disease.
Even to this day I still here about people being diagnosed and dying from brain tumors and what Erin has gone through. We need more help and research to put an end to this.
Thank You in advance for anything you can do to help. No matter how small.
I am uniting with others to make a difference in the fight against brain tumors. I am passionate about this cause, so I’m taking action. I need your help in this fight. National Brain Tumor Society will not rest until a cure exists - but more needs to be done. Please join in my effort!
