New England Brain Tumor Walk

Team Coia

The Monteiro children invite you to join us in supporting the National Brain Tumor Society in the fight against brain tumors.

On June 7, 2015 our mother, Maria Socorro "Coia" Monteiro succumbed to illness after a courageous battle with a brain tumor. She did not let the illness defeat her winning spirit and she taught us to hold on to our faith and to continue to live and love even when facing hardships. Even through the toughest days, Coia maintained her strength of spirit and love for family, church, and community. She tried with all her heart to stay with us, but God called her and she had to go. Although, Coia was small in stature her heart was enormous and her ability to love, respect, forgive and nurture was unmatched. She touched so many more than just her family. She believed in public service and raised her family to think of others before self. Coia showed us that life is about being there for one another. We would like to continue her legacy by supporting research and treatment efforts for all those who have suffered and are suffering from brain tumors. We choose to continue her works of love, charity and peace by supporting the causes of all those who are suffering from terminal illnesses. We invite you to stand up with us and help bring awareness and support in the hope that one day a cure will be found for this terrible disease that has claimed the lives of so many of our loved ones.

We are uniting with others to make a difference in the fight against brain tumors. We are passionate about this cause, so we are taking action. We need your help in this fight.  National Brain Tumor Society will not rest until a cure exists - but more needs to be done. Please join our effort!
