Remembering Pearl and Walter

For the tenth year our team, made up of family and friends of my mother, Pearl Shulman, and my life partner, Walter Brady, will walk to commemorate these two very special people who died of glioblastoma multiforme eleven months apart in 2007. Raising money for the Brain Tumor Society is one of the ways I deal with grief. The Brain Tumor Society supports research which will one day result in a cure for even the most aggressive types of brain tumors.

The Brain Tumor Walk is an energizing event where the brain tumor community unites to inspire hope and take action in the fight against brain tumors.  I hope you will join my team, "Remembering Pearl and Walter," not only to honor two remarkable and beloved people, but to make a difference in the lives of countless others.

Like the memories of Pearl and Walter, the words of Senator Edward M. Kennedy are never far from my mind:

"The work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."
