Keep Fighting to Cure Brain Tumors
On April 13, 2024, our team, For Love of George, will participate in the Carolina Brain Tumor Walk & Race for the National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS). Many of you have participated with us in the past, either by joining us at the event and/or donating to help support the daily fight to end brain tumors. We hope we can count on your support again this year, and gain some new supporters as well!
On September 14, 2013, one of the finest men ever, my husband, George Watson, lost a two-year battle against a Glioblastoma Grade 4 (GBM4) tumor. He survived longer than many fighting this disease and packed a lot into those two years! He was Jennie and Kristen's father, Addison and Ryker's grandfather, part of a large extended family, a network of friends...and loved by all of us!
Since George's death, many advances in the treatment of not only GBM brain tumors but a vast array of brain tumors afflicting both adults and children have been made. I like to think that if George were alive today he would be fighting this battle even more successfully!
For NBTS to continue to fund and fight for advances in eliminating brain tumors, in addition to volunteers and advocates, they need monetary contributions...and that's where you come in. Please donate to our team and join us at the walk or join us in spirit.
Thanks so much for your love and kindness!
National Brain Tumor Society is fiercely committed to finding a cure for brain tumors. They are aggressively driving strategic research; advocating for public policies that meet the critical needs of the brain tumor community; and providing comprehensive patient, family and caregiver resources. Your support ensures this important work will continue.
