Welcome to My Personal Page
As most of you know, my husband, Ethan, suffered a medical emergency in June 2021. Initially we thought his symptoms of loss of feeling and control on the right side of his body, slurred speech, and loss of consciousness was due to heat stroke, but we later learned that he had suffered a seizure. After running tests at a local hospital, we were shocked and devastated to learn that an MRI on his brain had revealed a primary tumor on his left frontal lobe. On June 21, 2021, Ethan had an awake craniotomy to remove the tumor.
Since we last participated in this fundraiser, Ethan underwent a second awake craniotomy at MGH on October 18, 2022 to remove residual tumor that was seen on an MRI. We are so fortunate that he has an outstanding medical team at MGH that continues to provide care and support. We are also so fortunate to have so many supportive friends and family.
I'm amazed by my husband's strength and courage during and after his surgeries. Ethan and I will be doing the New England Brain Tumor Walk together as we did last year right before his surgery.
I am participating in this fundraiser walk a second year to continue to support my sweet husband and others who have been diagnosed with a brain tumor. There continues to be limited treatment options and no cure. Every treatment option is not available to every patient and every option does not work for every patient. It’s critical that research, especially clinical trials, continue so that advancements in treatments and technology continue. Research needs funding so I need to do my part to raise money. For more information, on the research that the National Brain Tumor Society supports please check out: https://braintumor.org/research/
If you are able to donate, any amount would be so appreciated. All of the money raised will go to the National Brain Tumor Society, which will continue the fight until there is a cure. If you are not able to donate, please share this fundraiser with others, if nothing else, to RAISE AWARENESS. Thank you all for your support.
National Brain Tumor Society is fiercely committed to finding a cure for brain tumors. They are aggressively driving strategic research; advocating for public policies that meet the critical needs of the brain tumor community; and providing comprehensive patient, family and caregiver resources. Your support ensures this important work will continue.
