Keep Moving; No Regrets
In July 2020, Ira was diagnosed with glioblastoma. For 2 1/2 years, Ira was able to travel extensively throughout the world and enjoy both domestic and international active adventures. To learn more about our journey visit-- https://sandrabornstein.com/for-glio/.
We are extremely grateful that Ira was able to maintain his quality of life longer than most people diagnosed with glioblastoma. In addition to a plethora of lifestyle choices, Ira lived by the daily motto—Keep Moving; No Regrets.
In January, 2023, an inoperable tumor was detected in Ira's thalamus. Another round of radiation was followed by chemotherapy and a remapping of Ira's brain for his Optune device. When these efforts failed, Avastin infusions were subsequently tried.
On July 21, 2023 Ira passed away surrounded by family members.
We encourage friends and relatives to support the 2023 NBTS walk in Denver on September 23.
