Carolina Brain Tumor Walk & Race

Greg's Grunts

As many of you know, in 2017, Greg Buckley passed away from brain cancer. He had a glioblastoma mulitforme- also known, unfortunately, as the emperor of all cancers. GBM is a nasty, highly agressive form of cancer. The median survival time is 15 months with treatment, and only 30% survive past two years post-diagnosis. This is the same cancer that killed Beau Biden and John McCain.

Greg dealt with this cancer in a way that few could- with grace and incredible strength.  Before the cancer struck, he was in the peak of health- running every day, working a highly demanding job, cheering on his sports teams, and, of course, spending time with his family and doting on his grandson, Buckley. He went from that to the end of his life in 6 months. He is missed.

Dying from this disease or watching someone die from this disease are experiences no one should ever have.

On March 25th of this year, on the five year anniversary of Greg's death, some family members of his are participating in a fundraising walk/run for the National Brain Tumor Society. One of their main areas of research is GBM tumors. We are all stretched thin these days, but we hope you'll consider donating some money to Greg's team. Strides ARE being made in the fight against GBM, but researchers need more money to keep moving forward. Thank you for your time.
