Welcome to My Personal Page
My dear sister, Shannon Bruce, passed away on February 25, 2022. She always said I was the Wind Beneath her Wings. If there is any truth to that statement, I hope to remain so by continuing to carry on her legacy of Hope that a cure for brain tumors can be found.
This year marks team Sharing Hope's 18th time participating in a fundraising walk.
I had a very faith-filled and courageous sister. I am still in awe of how she battled brain cancer and how she became an advocate for the fight against brain tumors. She has participated in this Brain Tumor Walk every year since her surgery in June 2007, including the walk in 2007. She sincerely believed that her tumor was a tool in helping her find her calling to work as an advocate, to fundraise, and to contribute to the development of more effective treatments, and search for a cure for all brain tumors.
As I try to match her courage and faith, I realize what a giant task it is. However, I will do the very best I can to become a reflection of my sister's spirit. I hope to embody her ever-grateful heart and to continue her service to others. Everyone who met my sister was changed by knowing her.
I will borrow some sentiment from the song lyrics For Good from the musical Wicked and say:
So much of me is made of what I learned from Shannon. And she will be with me like a handprint on my heart. Whatever way our stories ended, I know she has rewritten mine by being my best friend.
Who can say if I’ve been changed for the better, but because I knew her, I have been changed for good.
Please join me in this fight. I ask for your prayers for a successful event. Please donate to NBTS in support of team Sharing Hope.
With a grateful heart,
Kimberly
