Team Rosemary

Meet Rosemary Barret

Please join my sister and I in the fight against brain tumors with the National Brain Tumor Society in memory of our aunt, Rosemary Barrett. We lost our aunt to a Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) on August 12, 2023. GMB exists. We never knew about it, but met face-to-face with GMB, sweeping through my aunt’s body, and then taking her final breath away in 6 short weeks. Rosemary was 69 years old! The sadness of her leaving us so abruptly, does not go away, in fact, it lingers with us every day.

However, in sharing Rosemary’s story, where all she wanted was to leave the hospitals and go home, but instead she endured a Craniotomy that was supposed to bring her home to Little Ferry, NJ with plenty of visits to the Jersey Shore! She loved the beach and read books there. Basically, it was her happy place. Let's not forget the Gin and Tonics!

It’s insane to think that after her retirement in November of 2022 that all her hopes and dreams were waiting for her. They were right there for her to grab and go anywhere or be at home.

One thing, we have learned on this caregiving journey with Rosemary this. There is NO summer when a family member is battling a deadly cancer, like GMB.

That’s the fighting Irish spirit that we are bringing come May 11, 2024 to the beach in Asbury Park, NJ! Rosemary would have loved that. Will you consider a donation to Team Rosemary to help us reach our fundraising goal? Every dollar raised gets us one step closer to a breakthrough and a cure.

Go Team Rosemary Go!
