New Jersey Brain Tumor Walk

TEAM GRAY

TEAM GRAY was formed by Lindsay Gray, a 27-year old New Jersey State Trooper, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor in of May, 2010. After undergoing over nine hours of surgery to have it removed, Lindsay spent four weeks in the neuro-ICU at NY Presbyterian Hospital, followed by another four weeks of rehab at Kessler Institute in West Orange, NJ. She faced countless obstacles and conquered them with courage and grace that amazed everyone around her. Lindsay never gave up on her goals, nor did she ever stop living her life to the fullest.

Lindsay was an inspiration to everyone who knew her! She was always so much fun to be around! Her spirit and her unwavering determination is what allowed her to meet her goal of returning to work at a job she loved with the New Jersey State Police.

Sadly, after two and a half years of recovery, Lindsay passed away suddenly on January 13, 2013. We miss her so much!

In May of 2011, Lindsay organized our first walk in the Race for Hope in Washington, DC. We joined her again in 2012 on Governors’ Island. We continued walking in Lindsay's memory for five years at Randall's Island and Asbury Park earning #1 Fundraising Team Award, the Team Spirit Award and always finishing in the top three! In 2018, The NBTS established The Gray Mud Run in Lindsay’s honor.

So far, TEAM GRAY raised over $170,000 for the NBTS!

This year we will be walking in Asbury Park on May 11, 2024.  Let’s keep Lindsay’s legacy going!
