After a COVID absence the past two years, Team Fiza walks again. Our storied team first walked in support of brain tumor research in 2015, in San Francisco, with Fiza herself. In the years since we have shifted primary operations to DC, though Team Fiza (west coast) remains a going concern. Hopefully, we'll be fundraising on two coasts again this year.
Fiza was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme in December 2014. The disease, which to this day remains incurable, took her life 14 months later. Despite her prognosis, Fiza lived her time with cancer as fully as possible. She spent meaningful time building memories with her daughter Azu, she worked tirelessly in support of foster youth in Northern California, and she researched and underwent various treatments. GBM is an indiscriminate and mysterious disease, but medical researchers remain committed to finding a treatment breakthrough. We walk in Fiza's memory, cerrtianly, but we also walk to help support their critically important work. Register and join us!
