Welcome to Karen Smith's Personal Page
As many of you know, our dear friends, Sarah & Eric Nealley, lost their son, Drew, in August 2006 at age 7 to a brain tumor. We first met the Nealleys when Elizabeth started 1st grade with Drew's older brother, Harrison, at Grace Episcopal Day School. Later, Drew and Alex started pre-school together at age 3, and our friendship with the Nealleys began to grow as our two younger boys did, sharing many special moments with Drew and his family, including school functions, playdates, birthday parties and sports teams. De had the pleasure of coaching Drew in baseball and I was fortunate to spend a lot of time with Drew during his illness and will never forget his courage, enthusiasm for life, creativity and delightful sense of humor. We remain close to the Nealleys and count them among our dearest friends. For the 18th year, De, Elizabeth, Alex and I will participate on the Drew Nealley Team, which has raised over $320,000 to date for brain tumor research. We look forward to another successful year with your help. Please consider supporting the race to honor Drew and his family, and in hope that other families will never experience such a loss.
