Remembering Ray Donovan
On May 5th 2007, the world lost an amazing father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend when our dad, Ray Donovan, lost his very short battle to Glioblastoma Multiforme brain cancer. This rapidly progressing form of brain tumor currently has no definitive cure and the survival rate is only months with standard treatment.
My dad was the ultimate fan of all that my sister and I did, and this race has been a fitting tribute to that spirit. I now work closely with the brain tumor population as a Neurosurgery NP at Penn Medicine. Everyday I try to help those navigating this challenging process the way my own family did in 2007.
Our family is honoring his memory by participating in the Race for Hope 5k for the 17th year straight in 2024..
The Race for Hope benefits the Brain Tumor Society, dedicated to supporting those affected by brain tumors and finding a cure. Our team name is "Ray's Runners" and we invite everyone to either race with us or support our efforts.
Thank you for your support now and always.
