Michael Kolodin's Fundraising Page
I don’t talk about it too often but my dad was a brain tumor survivor. He didn’t just have 1 brain tumor, he actually ended up having 4. He sadly passed away 3 years ago. Before his passing, ever since the first brain tumor, he was very involved with the National Brain Tumor Society. He always had a team and raised money for the DC event. The name of his team was the “Kolodin Cruisers”
When he passed away, the team, and his fundraising efforts died with him.
My sister and I decided to revive the team this year and I am running in my dad’s honor. I am hoping to honor my dad’s legacy and continue to carry on the “Kolodin Cruiser” team. The NBTS 5k and fundraiser is Sunday, May 5th. We need your help to find a cure. The National Brain Tumor Society is fiercely committed to finding a cure for brain tumors. Your support ensures this important work will continue.
Who was Jeff?
My dad was the best and I miss him dearly. I’m sitting here trying to think of my “favorite” moment that we had together, but honestly they are all my favorite - it’s too hard to chose because honestly I would do anything to hear his voice again or give him a hug. I think this story is quite fitting though:
Right before my dad passed away, I FaceTimed him crying because this salon didn’t listen to me and literally like buzzed my entire head. I was devastated and no one could help to make me feel better, but then I called my dad and he not only got me to stop crying, but he actually made me laugh. That was just the type of person he was. No matter the situation, no matter how sad the situation was, he knew how to make you feel better. He decided to use this skill for good. I remember he would often be talking with people and their families who just got dealt a terrible brain tumor diagnosis. He did this for many families and understood the fear and pain they felt. The National Brain Tumor Society was a special organization that he held closely to his heart and he was always willing to help. I hope to be able to give back the way he did for the National Brain Tumor Society.
