STRIKING OUT CANCER ONE PITCH AT A TIME
Odds are that you know someone who has/had the dreaded "C" word. Whether they won or lost that battle, it remains personal. It stays with you. Friend, family member, co-worker. Maybe a total stranger - someone you spoke to while going about your day to day. Regardless, watching someone who is in the midst of it's furry, is heartbreaking.
I never had the honor of meeting David's older brother Adam Cook. But for some divine reason, I always felt as it I knew him. I was actually at Dave's concert in West Palm Beach just hours for he passed. Dave made the announcement at the Race For Hope in 2009, and if you should watch the video, be prepared... I grieved heavily. (https://youtu.be/zC6h7WoMiVI) It was his innagural year. And to this day he continues his efforts. I am proud to be a part of this community, and my involvement each year. Because while this walk/run is primarily for Brain Cancer patients & survivors, I walk in honor of ALL cancer patients. I am also actively involved in #ABC2 & #StandUpToCancer.
This year, in addition to Adam, and my grandfather Richard, I will walk in honor of my dear friend, Kimberly Ross, who is currently undergoing treatment for stomach cancer. I've known Kim for many years, having had the pleasure of working with her. She is beautiful, brave, and strong. And I have no doubt in my mind that by God's grace & healing, He will see her thru this.
Please consider giving to this wonderful cause. Even the tiniest little bit helps. Together, we can and will put an end to this horrific nightmare. We will see a cure someday. In Jesus' Name. Amen & Amen.
