Welcome to My Personal Page
Friends and Family,
FINAL UPDATE: Apr 17 - We’re in the home stretch. Only 2 weeks until the May 1st Race for Hope. Should be a good crowd. If you’re interested in participating, we’ll meet at our usual location on Freedom Plaza at 8:30. Please call or send a note so we can communicate logistics, provide updates as necessary, and keep an eye out for you.
On the fundraising front, we are getting close to our goal. I appreciate everyone who has already contributed. If you haven’t donated and still want to, you can follow the available link or select “Donate Now” on my personal page. Please forward to anyone you think might be interested.
Take care, and I hope to see you at the event. Lisa

UPDATE: Mar 6 - Hey there! I'm coming up on the half-way point in my plan to get ready for the walk on May 1. We started out slowly working up to a mile, then 1.25, 1.5 and so on. But as I started to close in on 2 miles, I was hitting a wall. I would get a little dizzy and needed to sit to collect myself. If I don't want to sit and watch the 3.3-mile event in May, I will need to keep working to stretch out my endurance.
Likewise, our fundraising started out strong but has slowed a bit. There's still plenty of time so I'm not worried about getting ready for the walk or meeting my fundraising goals. I appreciate the contributions made so far and am confident we'll continue to make great strides. If you want to contribute on my behalf just follow the "Donate Now" link provided in this communication. I'll be back in touch in a few weeks to ring the donation bell one last time, and to see who would like to walk with me so we can cover logistics.
Until then, get out walking and enjoy the warming weather. It will help shake off both the winter and pandemic blues.
Take care. Lisa

Jan 25 - We still have snow on the ground, and debris from the storm that shut down our power for 4 days is still littering the community. Nothing about this frigid winter inspires thoughts of a Spring walk in DC. Though maybe it should - because we are BACK! We are walking again in this year’s Race for Hope – DC. I plan to be there on May 1 to support the cause, and I hope to reconnect with all my friends and family who have supported this event in the past.
I continue to do well – recently extending my 4-month checkups to every 6 months. Though I admit to using the pandemic to justify staying inside and watching too much TV, I will embrace this year’s event as inspiration for working my way back into event-ready shape. I must if I’m going to complete the walk in May.
This event is important to me as it raises funds to support advancements in research and treatments for brain tumors. We kept the fundraising momentum going throughout the pandemic, beating my goals each of the past two years. Now we can do the same while getting back out and enjoying each other’s company. More information about the Race for Hope is available at the links provided herein, as well as information on how you can make helpful donations to my team. I could not do this without you. Please forward to anyone you think may be interested.
Stay well. Lisa
