I have registered to fundraise for the National Brain Tumor Society's (NBTS) Race for Hope-DC because I am passionate about the NBTS mission to conquer and cure brain tumors — once and for all. I will never forget the moment the doctor told me that Ricky had a brain tumor - I could not even process the fact that my smart, athletic, beautiful boy had something so terrible. But throughout his 13 months of treatments we remained hopeful. Ricky fought with strength, courage and faith that most adults never exhibit. But then came the devastating news that there was nothing more that could be done - no more medical options. That news from the doctors was even more devastating.. Those of us who love RIcky, support NBTS so that no other family has to experience that loss. We want to fund the research to find the treatments that work - the long term solutions that offer a cure.
