 I met Linda Morison when I was a high school senior moving from North Carolina to Churchill High School in Potomac, MD. She also played flute in the band, and we instantly hit it off.  Linda was my best friend, and her family was my refuge whenever I needed it.  Our friendship immediately re-kindled when I moved back into the area - It was like we had never been apart. I was so surprised to hear that she was a 2 time brain tumor survivor, and absolutely honored that she asked me to join her at this annual event to raise money for brain tumor research. How could I not?! Research and new techniques saved her life. Twice.

The Race for Hope - DC raises funds for The National Brain Tumor Society and Accelerated Brain Cancer Cure to support innovative research initiatives and support services for brain tumor patients and their families. This amazing event relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors and donors. Thank you for your support in helping us find a cure for brain tumors!

I'm thankful that Dr. Weingart (at Johns Hopkins) was able to successfully remove Linda's tumors, and I'm very lucky to still have my wonderful friend.  Incredible doctors, research and technology absolutely make a difference for people diagnosed with brain tumors.
