Since 2006 the Capital Craniums have been a team in the National Brain Tumor Society's Race for Hope -DC and we are back in person this year on Sunday May 1st. The mission is to conquer and cure brain tumors. Did you know that the 5 year survival rate for people in the US with a cancerous brain tumor is 36% and the survival rate for a gioblastoma for one year is 25% (and only 5% survive five years)! Having done this race for so many years, we have seen teams runs with their yellow shirt member (the survivor color) return the following year wearing their "in memory of" signs. Any nothing will made you want to get rid of this more than seeing the number of children in their yellow shirts. We are so grateful to have our 17 year survivor run with us.
