Welcome to My Personal Page
I'm looking forward to taking part in the Race for Hope DC 5K for a 7th straight year to honor my amazing mother, Beverly, who died in 2017 after battling an aggressive, inoperable grade 4 astrocytoma brain tumor. My mom passed away less than two months after her diagnosis, and our world was completely turned upside down. Now I'm determined to spend the rest of my life fundraising to make sure others with a similar diagnosis get more of a fighting chance to survive. I want families and caregivers to have a greater sense of hope, not the feeling of utter helplessness we experienced.
The Race for Hope DC raises crucial funds for the National Brain Tumor Society, a nonprofit that is leading the way in innovative brain cancer research while also advocating for patients and their caregivers. There are more than 100 different types of primary brain tumors which makes finding a cure all the more difficult. Brain tumor research is significantly underfunded compared to other cancers and the survival rates remain little-changed.
Please consider supporting our team -- Beverly's Brainiacs. You can sign up to walk or run with us in DC on May 5th or you can simply make a donation to our fundraising effort. Every dollar counts in the fight against brain tumors. I'm so incredibly proud that our team has now raised nearly $13,000 in my mom's memory for brain tumor research since we first started participating in 2018.
Thank you so much for all your love and support.
