Dave Miller's (TEAM GEICO) personal brain tumor journey

Hi,
My name is Dave Miller and I'm a brain tumor/brain cancer survivor and fighter! My surgeon, Dr Jon Weingart from John's Hopkins, was able to remove most of the tumor surgically during a 4+ hour "awake craniotomy". My survival so far has been life changing due to losing my flying career but at least I'm still living - many others are not so lucky. They may to have to undergo multiple surgeries which is often followed by radiation treatment and/or chemotherapy and if we are lucky enough to find them - clinical trials. Many of us will have a recurrence and the long term survival rate is not great and is a terrible weight to carry on our minds each day.
I am uniting with other survivors, fighters, friends and families of those diagnosed to make a difference in the fight against brain tumors. I am passionate about this cause, so I’m taking action and need you on my team! The National Brain Tumor Society is making strides for a cure - but more needs to be done. Please join in my effort to help us find a cure for this terrible disease.
I'd be thrilled if you could join me on Sunday May 1 to walk/run with me at the Race For Hope- DC. If you can't join us in person a donation is appreciated and will go a long way to help us find a cure for brain tumors! Every dollar helps - THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!
Thanks for your support and I'd love to see you on May 1 in Washington DC!
With much love,
Dave
