Help us fight brain cancer!
It was right around this time 7 years ago that our lives changed forever. My strong, healthy, funny, handsome brother, Danny Milano, had a seizure out of the blue and was diagnosed with GBM - Glioblastoma Multiforme. GBM is one of the most complex, deadly, and treatment-resistant cancers. The average glioblastoma survival time is 12-18 months – only 25% of patients survive more than one year, and only 5% of patients survive more than five years. From day 1, Danny put on his game face and prepared to fight. We nicknamed him IronDan and he fought like a warrior for 18 months surrounded and supported by family and friends. To say this shook us to our core is an understatement. The loss of my brother is the hardest thing I’ve ever dealt with. Before he passed on, he asked us to continue to fight for a cure in the hopes that there will come a day when there are viable treatments for other people diagnosed with GBM. The greatest outcome would be a day when GBM doesn’t exist anymore. I am so appreciative and humbled by all of the support you’ve given my family over the years. Thank you for every dollar, every prayer and every kind word. None of it goes unnoticed.
My family, along with the National Brain Tumor Society will not rest until a cure exists - but more needs to be done. This weekend we’ll be walking in our annual 5k with The National Brain Tumor Society’s Race For a Cure. Please join in our efforts if you’re able by donating to TEAM IRONDAN
