In Memory of Sonalee and Susan-Birthday Fundraiser
I turn 40 just a couple days after this event so this is a cause I want to support this year for a birthday fundraiser. So if you’re able and can donate or are in the DC area and want to participate, please do. On May 5, the women of Batala Washington will be performing at the Race for Hope DC, in honor of the two members who have tragically left us too soon due to aggressive brain tumors. We lost Susan Burgerman in 2022, and earlier this year, we lost Sonalee Asim. Family members and friends of the band will also join thousands of others to run the race or walk the course, starting at Freedom Plaza.
