Team Holly Grace

We are back!! Holly is at seven years stable and Team Holly Grace is back for our 8th Race for Hope DC!!! Help us with our fundraising efforts as we push over the $200,000 total raised!!

On January 29, 2016, four months after the birth of their son Matt Jr. Matt and Holly Gibbons life together began a new journey.

Holly’s husband Matt who is a police officer was getting up from a nap before having to work the night shift and found Holly sitting on the bathroom floor with her head between her knees. Holly was unbearably dizzy and strangely she was unable to text message. She then began to have difficulty speaking and  trouble finding the words she wanted to say.

Holly was taken to the emergency room at Cooper hospital in Camden and after a CT scan a tumor was discovered on her brain.

After additional medical appointments Holly underwent a five hour awake brain surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. She was then subsequently diagnosed with grade III Anaplastic Astrocytoma, Brain Cancer.

Holly completed six and a half weeks of radiation along with concurrent chemotherapy at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson. This was followed by a yearly regiment of chemo pills (Temodar) one week a month along with a clinical trial at John’s Hopkins.

We certainly don't know what the future holds but we know how important brain tumor and brain cancer research is and how badly we all want Holly to live a long and healthy life, free of this disease. Matt, Holly and their three amazing kids need Holly here with them and truly thank everyone for the continued support over the last six years!!!

Please join us on May 7th in Washington DC!!!
