Team Green
Our team is excited to join forces with the National Brain Tumor Society by participating in 2023 Race for Hope-DC on May 7, 2023 to celebrate the success of Kim's brain tumor resection in 2022 (story below) and more importantly to bring awareness and support for others going through a similar situation and those on a tougher path. Please support our efforts by either registering to join our team and run/walk with us or consider making a donation to one of our team member's fundraising efforts. The National Brain Tumor Society is committed to conquering and curing brain tumors — once and for all.
Kim's story:
In October 2021, I had a bout of severe vertigo caused by vestibular neuritis which took a solid month to fully recover from the constant dizziness. As dibillitating as the vertigo was, it was a blessing in disquise as it led to the discovery of a brain tumor (meningioma) causing swelling on my frontal lobe. In December 2021, the neurosurgeon recommended removal of the tumor as the best course of action to avoid potential symptoms and complications from continued growth. I had brain surgery in mid-January 2022 to remove the benign tumor in its entirety. We are incredibly thankful for the outpouring of prayers, love and support for our family during the successful surgery and month-long recovery. We want to give back to support and bring awareness for especially those that are not as fortunate and have ongoing struggles with dibillitating symptoms; a more complicated surgery due to the location of the tumor; a tougher road to recovery; or an unexpected cancer diagnoses.
