Year #9! Our team, Chris' Cronies, is excited to once again join forces with the National Brain Tumor Society by participating in the 2023 Race for Hope DC on May 7, 2023.
In 2015, we launched this team in celebration of Christine Makris' 10th year as a survivor of brain cancer. Sadly, in 2016, we walked in her honor, due to a significant setback in her cancer journey -- the tumor which had been malignant but stable for all those years, suddenly became quite diffuse throughout several parts of her brain. Quickly, our lives went from celebration, to great sadness, and on June 13, 2016, Chris passed away.
Since 2017, we have continued to walk, run, and dance down the streets of DC (and all over the world), in memory of Chris and in support of all those affected by this horrible disease -- survivors and loved ones alike. Please support our efforts by either registering to join our team or consider making a donation to one of our team member's fundraising efforts. The National Brain Tumor Society is committed to conquering and curing brain tumors — once and for all.
