Team Wood Perkins+Will
Before James' diagnosis in October 2011, his days were full and his future promising. He had built a thriving Strategic Planning practice at Perkins+Will, where he was a Principal and Vice President. He enjoyed his home and family with his wife, Adrienne, and his sons, Alex (ten at the time) and Adam (seven at the time). He took delight in coaching and cheering on his boys. He recorded these joys as he saw them -- in action-packed candid photographs. We still enjoy looking at them today.
James was a good man, a loving husband, a nurturing father, and a wonderful son and brother. All who knew him will attest to his willingness to offer a helping hand whenever possible. If he were still here with us, he would be leading this walk, helping to fight for others with this cancer. This is the man we love and are honoring by continuing with this fight to find a cure for brain cancer.
We, his family, his friends, his neighbors, and his former coworkers, will walk for him and because of him every year. He most certainly will always be walking with us in spirit.
We want to thank you in advance for signing up to walk or run with us and/or giving your financial support. The Race for Hope is an inspiration and declaration to everyone that we will beat this disease, that our love for those afflicted is unwavering, and that we are dedicated mentally, physically, and emotionally to the fight.
The Race for Hope (which takes place in many cities) is one of the largest financial fundraisers in the country benefiting the brain tumor community. Proceeds support the National Brain Tumor Society and Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure research.
We are Team Wood, fighting to beat brain cancer!!!! To date, we have raised over $117,000 in the past 11 years. Help us continue to make a difference!
