Race For Hope DC

Bloomfield Tumor Tamers

Riding in Memory of Bob Bloomfield

The Race for Hope is advancing research into such a difficult disease --

and scientific advances helped Bob survive years beyond the usual life expectancy, years that were filled with love and life. Now we walk and ride so people who face brain tumors in the future can hear, "We have effective treatments for your disease."

This year the Bloomfield Tumor Tamers will return to Freedom Plaza for the first time since the pandemic to join thousands of people in running, walking, and raising money for better treatments for this devastating disease.  The morning is an inspiring one, with time to honor those with the disease, a Wall of Hope, and lots of energized teams walking together.

The Bloomfield Tumor Tamers first walked for hope in 2015, after husband, brother and uncle Bob Bloomfield was diagnosed with GBM, and the Team has grown each year to encompass family and friends.  Bob loved the survivor's walk, and though he passed away in December 2020, he will be with us in spirit.

Please consider joining our team and/or making a donation to support us. Last year our fundraising reached $5,000, so our team name and photo was displayed on the jumbotron!

Thank you for supporting this effort over the years:  the Bloomfield Tumor Tamers have raised close to $50,000 for the National Brain Tumor Society to advance brain tumor research since 2015.

I hope to have you as part of our team! Together, we will find a cure for brain tumors.
