Race For Hope DC

Ironic Spades

Our friend David:

In December 2012 our friend David was diagnosed with a brain tumor. David has been such an amazing friend and inspiration to all of us over the last 18 years—always the life of the party, a musical genius and world traveler, a shoulder to lean on, secretly the smartest kid in class, never judgmental or angry. This is our effort to demonstrate our love and support for him and his family.

Update: David passed away on December 23, 2014. We love you David, and We'll carry your memory in our hearts wherever we go.

Our team name:

In high school David played trumpet in the marching band, wind ensemble and jazz band. He taught himself to play the guitar and piano, and composed music on the keyboard and electronically. It was his idea to form a band called the Ironic Spades.
