Race For Hope DC

Team Jake Turner

This will be our team's 13th year participating in this inspirational event. Jake was diagnosed with a ganglioglioma brain tumor when he was in 1st grade.  He had surgery in November 2008 which removed most of the tumor.  The piece of tumor that remained began to grow when he was in 3rd grade, and Jake had his second surgery on May 10, 2011.  At 21 years old, he's a junior at Salisbury University studying physical education.  We will forever be thankful for his amazing team of doctors at Children's National Medical Center. Jake always has a positive attitude and a smile on his face.  Please join us in the fight against brain tumors.

Our team is excited to join forces with the National Brain Tumor Society by participating in the first ever National Brain Tumor Walk and Race for Hope-DC in honor of Brain Tumor Awareness Month. Please support our efforts by either registering to join our team or consider making a donation to one of our team member's fundraising efforts. While we continue to navigate living in a virtual space, we are reminded of the benefit it provides; YOU can support this year's event and take part in the program on May 2nd from anywhere in the world! The National Brain Tumor Society is committed to conquering and curing brain tumors — once and for all.
