NBTS Fall Challenge: Miles for Milestones

Mark's Herd

Hi friend,

Thank you for visiting our page. We are the family of Mark Walker and we’ve created this page to help raise awareness and donations for the National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS) through their Fall Challenge: Miles for Milestones.

As you know, this has been a very difficult year for our family. From learning of Mark’s diagnosis with Glioblastoma brain cancer in early January, to his brave battle fighting this terrible disease for five months, and sadly ending with his passing on June 7, 2021.

No one should ever have to hear the devastating news that they have an incurable brain tumor. And no family should have to live through this horrible experience with their loved one.

That’s why we’re passionate about the work that NBTS is doing and why we created a team in Mark’s honor to help raise critical funds so they can continue to do the important research that will allow them to conquer and cure brain tumors – once and for all.

If you knew Mark, then you know he was a big Marshall University fan. So we’ve named our team in his honor. Please consider joining Mark’s Herd – because we are his herd. Our goal is to raise $2,000 in Mark’s memory and every donation, no matter how small, matters.

On October 17th, we’ll also be participating in a virtual walk to raise awareness for NBTS. You can join us from anywhere in the world and walk as little or as much as you'd like! Here's how to participate:

  • Commit to walking on or before October 17th.
  • Snap a selfie during your walk.
  • Share your photo on social media (Facebook and/or Instagram) and use the hashtag #MarksHerd.
  • Make sure your post is public so we can see and re-share your photo.

If you're unable to make a donation or join us for the virtual walk, you can still support our campaign by SHARING any of our social media posts to help us reach more people.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!
