Welcome to My Personal Page
On Father's Day weekend, 2015, our family's world was rocked when my brother, Patrick (aka Smitty) suffered a seizure and was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 32. That summer, he had a very successful surgery followed by 6 weeks of radiation and 18 months of chemo. While he was still going through chemo, Patrick also became a dad when Norah was born on his 34th birthday! Patrick continued to fight courageously and persevered through chemo and infusions through the summer of 2019. He ultimately lost his battle against brain cancer on September 12, 2019.
This has been an emotionally and physically daunting road, but we have been overwhelmed by the love and support of our friends and family and even complete strangers! While there are treatments available, there is no cure for brain cancer. We need your help! We have met so many people affected by this horrible disease and are more determined than ever to stop brain cancer!
I am uniting with others to make a difference in the fight against brain tumors. I am passionate about this cause, so I’m taking action. I need your help in this fight. National Brain Tumor Society will not rest until a cure exists - but more needs to be done. Please join in my effort!
National Brain Tumor Society is fiercely committed to finding a cure for brain tumors. They are aggressively driving strategic research; advocating for public policies that meet the critical needs of the brain tumor community; and providing comprehensive patient, family and caregiver resources. Your support ensures this important work will continue.
