Welcome to Jean's Race for Hope page!
My daughter, Jess Finlayson was diagnosed in 2018 at the age of 26 with a brain tumor. In 2020, after 3 surgeries and many treatments, Jess's tumor morphed into a Glioblastoma (GBM) which is the deadliest type of brain tumor. Jess fought hard in 2020 with many surgeries and treatments but lost her battle to this horrible disease in January 2021. In memory and in honor of Jess, I will continue to make a difference in the fight against brain tumors. I am very passionate about this cause, so I’m taking action and need your help in this fight!
The annual National Brain Tumor Society 5K walk/run Race for Hope in Philadelphia was virtual in 2020 and 2021. Jess walked in 2020. I am team captain for "Team Jess" and am looking for others to join our team and honor Jess and support research for brain tumors. The NBTS 5K event is in a new location at Cooper River Park in Camden County NJ. Erik and I ran the race in 2022 with Jess's roommate from college Becca and her husband Mike and in 2023, Becca and our friends Deb & Keith Kreider ran with us. We would love to have others join us this year!
Please consider joining my team to WALK, RUN, or DONATE for our cause and help us fight against brain cancer!

Thank you for your support for Team Jess! We pray that someday there will be a cure for brain tumors and your donation will be going toward that cure!
