Welcome to My Personal Page
"Team Nick" is proud to once again participate in Philadelphia's Race for Hope to honor our son, brother and friend, Nick Marchione. This year we would also like to recognize Nick's Uncle Kenny who died in May from a brain tumor. We have had such an overwhelming response in the last two years that we plan to make the National Brain Tumor Society fundraiser an annual event in their memory. Nick was diagnosed with glioblastoma in 2016 at the age of 30, and while that diagnosis was so devastating, he continued to live his life as he always had, with family, friends and fun front and center. He was truly an inspiration to all who knew him. Nick never took for granted the fact that he lived in Philadelphia where he had access to the latest cancer treatments and where he would receive excellent care from physicians and staff at Penn Medicine's Brain Tumor Center. He always held out hope that he might live to benefit from new therapies and he never wavered in his optimism, sense of humor and quiet courage as he battled his cancer. That outlook gave everyone who cared for Nick the strength to fight along by his side. Nick died in December of 2020, 4 1/2 years after his diagnosis. Quitting was not in his lexicon; it was never an option. "Team Nick" plans to channel that same energy and spirit into this year's event. As a tribute to the incredible person Nick was, "Team Nick" is honored to support ongoing research and the many services that the National Brain Tumor Society provides for patients and families across the country. Please consider joining us October 13 for the 5K walk/run or making a small donation. Thank you!
