Welcome to My Personal Page
I am proud member of "Team Nick” and will participate in Philadelphia’s Race for Hope to honor Nick Marchione, a brother to my best friend, a son, a husband and a friend to many.
At 30 years old, Nick was diagnosed with glioblastoma. At the time, Nick was working his dream job as a mechanical engineer at NAVSEA and was planning a wedding with his best friend, Sarah.
In spite of the devastating diagnosis, he felt very fortunate to live in Philadelphia where he would receive excellent care from physicians and staff at Penn Medicine’s Brain Tumor Center. During his treatments, he continued working every day, married Sarah and lived his best life by traveling, trying the newest restaurants, spending time with family and friends and eventually perfecting his baking skills.
Nick’s optimism, sense of humor, and quiet courage gave everyone who cared for him the strength to battle this cancer with him. His greatest worry was how his diagnosis was affecting others. At the same time, he held out hope that new treatments were on the horizon. Nick died in December of 2020 after battling brain cancer for 4 1/2 years.
As a tribute to the great man Nick was, “Team Nick” is honored to support ongoing research and the many services that the National Brain Tumor Society provides for patients and families across the country.
