Welcome to My Personal Page
Over the last 12 years my family and friends have supported the National Brain Tumor Society in honor of my son Bobby who was diagnosed with an astrocytoma on the left temporal lobe at the age of 17. Bobby traveled the world, went to college, helped the most vulnerable as a drug addiction counselor and lived his life to the fullest every day of his 27 years. Brain cancer (and glioblastoma in particular) may have robbed Bobby of a long life but it did not rob him of a full live.
Bobby loved life, he never felt sorry for himself and inspired many because of his positivity, his strength, and the joy and laughter he brought each day regardless of his brain tumor/cancer. I always said and continue to say, Bobby's smile brightened even the darkest days. We miss Bobby terribly, but there is still a need to fight to support others and so we will in Bobby's name.
This year there was another cruel turn of events when my cousin Sara (Sally) DeShan - who would come to the race with her sisters to support my family - was diagnosed with GBM - one day she was playing pickleball - the next day fighting this terrible disease - within weeks this disease robbed her of her life.
National Brain Tumor Society is fiercely committed to finding a cure for brain tumors. They are aggressively driving strategic research; advocating for public policies that meet the critical needs of the brain tumor community; and providing comprehensive patient, family and caregiver resources. Your support ensures this important work will continue.
