5k Race for Hope - National Brain Tumor Society Fundraising, Michelle Nigro
These past 4 years, I have taken care of hundreds of patients with brain tumors. I am participating in this walk to honor all of them. I also am participating to help advance treatment efforts. I have the privilege of working not only with incredible nurses and APPs at the bedside, but also with some amazing Doctors who are pioneering treatment efforts, especially for GBMs - an aggressive cancer with no known cure. Dr. Donald O'Rourke and Dr. Stephen Bagley at Penn are using CAR T cell therapy to fight GBMs. Dr. Henry Brem at Johns Hopkins invented Gliadel wafers that are placed intraoperatively and deliver chemotherapy directly to the tumor bed.
I am uniting with others to make a difference in the fight against brain tumors. I am passionate about this cause, so I’m taking action. Please join in my effort!
