Team Delta- Changing Outcomes

The National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS) invests in much needed research to improve survival rates for GBM and other brain cancers. Their mission is to “unrelentingly invest in, mobilize, and unite the brain tumor community to discover a cure, deliver effective treatments, and advocate for patients and caregivers.

When a patient and their loved ones learn about a brain cancer diagnosis the world temporarily halts. Setting it back in motion is overwhelming. It involves digesting the diagnosis and then navigating the health care system. Choosing providers and treatment options, learning about clinical trials, identifying support systems and using available resources to implement the best plan are among the initial tasks. NBTS assists with these challenges.

We are participating in this event so that those whose  worlds have come to a halt can continue to successfully spin with needed support. We run in memory of David Becker who lived courageously with GBM for almost 4 years. David Becker was a cardiologist who believed in the efficacy and practice of a healthy diet and exercise. In his later years, following a diagnosis of glioblastoma, he gained a deeper appreciation for the role of luck and medical advancement as components for longevity. He lived his 66 years fully, running many 5ks and half marathons. We honor his memory in running this 5K with the hope for advancement of brain tumor treatment and support of patients and caregivers. Funds raised from this run will go to the National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS).
