Welcome to My Personal Page
National Brain Tumor Society (NBTS) is a putting the search for a cure into overdrive. Progress is being made, but there is so much more to be done. Please support my efforts!
In February of 2011, my family's world was flipped upside down. After several seizures and many trips to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, my dad, the strongest man I have ever met, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. Doctors decided to go in and do a biopsy which took 8-hours in June of 2011. Results found his tumor was stage 4 cancer in the motor control center of the brain. Throughout this 11 and a half-month battle with brain cancer, radiation and chemo, my dad NEVER gave up his quick wit and amazing sense of humor.
February 10,2012- my father, 53, lost his battle with brain cancer. He passed away with my mother, my younger sister and myself by his side. With each day that passes, I can’t help but think, could this have been prevented? Could we have eased his pain?
For anyone who has ever lived with someone who has suffered or is suffering from cancer, you understand the struggles not only the patient has, but the emotional struggle the family members endure through this horrible battle.
In our first year walking with the NBTS (2011) , we walked for my dad to show him we were right beside him through his struggle. Sadly, now we walk to honor his life and fight. Please join us in memory of my dad, Mark. Join our team, donate or just share awareness.
