Welcome to My Personal Page
GREETINGS and WELCOME to Year #19... AND .....
THE SIXTH YEAR FOR "KAREN'S BRAIN WAVES"
2024 is the 19th Year for our annual Race for Hope AND THIS YEAR WE HAVE SOME BIG CHANGES: WE ARE MOVING TO COOPER RIVER IN NEW JERSEY AND OUR EVENT HAS BEEN RE-NAMED A TAD: WE ARE NOW "THE RACE FOR HOPE GREATER PHILADELPHIA". IT'S THE SAME GREAT EVENT WITH THE SAME GREAT CAUSE, we just needed a Bigger Venue (again) and had to relocate to New Jersey. Not many venues can accommodate over 8,000 attendees; but Cooper River is Happy to Welcome us. It's wonderful that we are growing BUT it's also so unfortunate WHY! It is now 19 years since my original Brain Tumor Diagnosis. I was originally diagnosed on the 13th of June, 2005 - 18 years ago! June 13 is also the Feast Day of our dear St. Anthony, we do believe that St Anthony has been watching over me, for I am truly BLESSED and Lucky to have made it this far! EVERY DAY IS A GIFT!
We are meeting this year on a SUNDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2024, to allow our Jewish Community time to observe their Holiday on Saturday. We will return to Saturdays the following years. We promise that this year's event will be AWESOME!! This annual event means the World to Us; We have been involved as Volunteers since Year #1 and have been serving on the all-volunteer Planning Committee for 18 years. We are totally Committed to helping to raise Awareness and raising Funds for Research to help FIND A CURE... As you know, advances in treatment are just not happening as quickly as we need - this is seriously UNACCEPTABLE!
Anthony (Tony) and I are so very grateful for your love, prayers and support during the past 19years - we are blessed to have so many wonderful and supportive family and friends BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP - this is our ONE TIME A YEAR - BIG ASK!! Please Please Please take a few minutes to DONATE, or better yet, come JOIN US on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 13th. It's going to be an Awesome Event and you'll be glad you JOINED US!
THANK YOU, Karen and Anthony (aka Tony) xoxoxo
